This i9 workhorse is an excellent value.
As I explain in the video, GMKtec has made a loyal customer of me. I own two of the K4 Ryzen mini PCs In addition to the M4 I am reviewing here..The M4 is a stellar mini PC, with a comically capable Intel core i9 processor, ample 32GB RAM, and a high-speed nvme SSD. It is a productivity beast in a form factor that allows for adequate cooling, but doesn’t compromise on saving space.if you’re like me, this wouldn’t mean much without a company that stands behind its products. This one does, as i explain in my video review.

Best Mini PC that I have purchased
This pc is by far the best mini pc that I have purchased. It functions just as advertised. It is extremely fast and ultra quiet. My next pc will definitely be bought from GMKtec.

A sleek workhorse that does a lot for a good price
I purchased the GMKtec Mini PC Intel Core i9-11900H recently after being impressed with another GMKtec machine (GMKtec Mini Intel Core i7-11390H). I’m a data scientist, work at home, and my primary use for these machines is lots of data crunching, very large downloads and data graphics. Because I need several machines, I’m on the lookout for inexpensive machines with peppy response time, lots of storage and the ability to handle heavy data lifting. I also want the machines to be easy to setup and synchronize the software I write across all my machines. This GMKtec Mini PC Intel Core i9-11900H seemed like a good option.I’ve had the machine more than a week and I’ve been impressed.- the machine was easy to setup to my needs and I’ve done a few rebuilds with no glitches. Nice.- Download speed is important to me – I have the highest rate available in my neighborhood. My main machine before I bought this one (a Dell), was OK but the GMKtek managed to increase actual download rates by about 2.5 times. That was just using one of the Ethernet ports. This machine has two ethernet ports, but from what I’ve read, dual ports may not be useful to users like me.- I use two big VGA monitors (that I bought at a thrift store for ~$5) and they work great with adapters on the HDMI and DP ports. I can’t comment on the quality of the high-end graphics but everything I did with the machine was clear with no obvious issues (including watching movies while doing a heavy data crunching job).- One tip that I would pass along to other users that try to run long scripts (mine can stretch into dozens of hours): This machine (and my other GMKtek) came with “Hibernate” set to 180 minutes. Even if you set sleep mode to “never” etc, the machine will shut down after three hours if you are running it unattended – clobbering your scripts. It is an easy fix: Go to ControlPanel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options > Edit Plan Settings. Click on “Change advanced power settings”. In the Sleep section, change “Hibernate after” from 180 minutes to “never”. Done.Overall it is a sleek workhorse that does a lot for a good price. I’m retiring my Dell to remote work and this GMK will be my main machine.

Good for the price, amazing with a discount.
Full disclosure, I got a $140 coupon on this when I purchased, I don’t know how often that coupon is offered, or if it was just because I bought before Christmas, but just wanted to put that out there, but overall I am extremely happy with the performance of this lil thing. It’s not powerhouse, of course, but it certainly holds it’s own, and gets the job down. Quietly, I might add. I had it within two feet of me while in use for about two or three days before moving it, and never noticed any real noise coming from it. And it doesn’t get very warm either. I don’t know what black magic they summoned to cool this thing, but it works, and well.

This was a lot of trouble, and the solution to the issues isn’t working that well either
Yet another update (Update 3):This became a saga. While the shipping is done by GMKtecs chosen shipping partner, Amazon, it became a very difficult situation. Having shipped back the faulty equipment and paid for the shipping myself it seemed every attempt to be refunded for the cost of shipping lead to nothing. After nemerous support calls and attempts to get GMKTec involved they stepped up. GMKTec sold me another GMKtec machine at a discounted price, discounted by US$200, so that they had a way of helping me out with the shipping refund situation. Just to be certain this is clear, they didn’t have to, it wasn’t GMKTec who owed me anything for the shipping. They genuinely didn’t have to do anything at all. I haven’t yet received the machine which is a different model to the one I bought where that specific unit had a performance issue. It’s a slightly lesser processor but AMD so with a far better GPU. Selling the machine, particularly since I still needed one, at the discounted price was just the way that they could help. It wasn’t a slighly opportunistic deal which forced me to buy another machine from GMKtec rather than somebody else. In light of the fact that they really didn’t have to do anything at all it was quite a creative way to get involved and help out. So where we are now, GMKtec have me back on their side for now, they really did a good thing. I hope that when the new macine arrives I can write a final update saying that the replacement machine is great and works like a dream.Additional Update (Update 2) :The process of shipping the hardware back is somewhat arduous and fraught. I followed the Amazon returns process but the courier company DHL insisted that I make a payment for the shipping during the process. If I hadn’t paid for the shipping the process couldn’t have continued. The cost of shipping the faulty equipment back to GMKTec was around $280. I made the payment and after a few weeks followed up with DHL to see whether the shipment had been completed. DHL make a customer intranet available but didn’t update the status, didn’t send any updates while the item was in transit. It transpires that the reason there were no updates was that the process I followed saw the shipment allocated to the Amazon account, so DHL doesn’t send updates to me but rather to Amazon. Not helpful for me, but nonetheless. I tried to find a way to get the shipping costs refunded, it makes no sense that a supplier ships faulty equipment and I have to carry the cost of shipping the item back and forth. It turns out that because DHL use the amazon account for the shipment, even though I made the payment I don’t get an invoice or a receipt. Not having a receipt makes it difficult though not impossible to get a refund, so that’s been an arduous process too. It’s taken several hours out of my work day to follow up on a refund for shipping for faulty equipment. It also happens that during all of this the thing I needed the PC for is not getting done because there is no PC for it.This is just too painful and having given GMKTec three chances I think I won’t be doing the same again.Updated (Update 1):It felt quite slow for an I9 processor so I started running benchmark tests. The specific machine that I had performed almost as well as a ten year old I7, but not quite. I’ve returned the hardware for a refund. With the cost of these items there shouldn’t be such a discrepancy, it’s a work tool, it should at very least work as intended on arrival. When I contacted GMKTec support they suggested that I remove the OS and reinstall it, which I did. That made no difference to the performance. It must be that that specific item was faulty. That said if one spends a thousand dollars on a bit of hardware (Including shipping) the hardware should work. If you don’t mind back and forth and wiping the OS and fiddling about with the thing until it eventually works I’m sure it can be made viable. I think I’ll buy different hardware instead, I need a working computer and I’m not inclined to tune and adjust and repair and ship hardware all over until it eventually works for me.Old (Original) Review:It performs ok on the kinds of things one might use a work computer for. It’s very lacking in the graphics department and isn’t upgradable. If you were to install Linux and a DB server on this little guy it’d be amazing. For anything that requires a bit of graphics grunt it’s a bit lacking. I installed a bluetooth speaker today and it seems it’s lacking in the bluetooth department too. The same speaker works perfectly with another computer in the same room but drops the connection and doesn’t work well with this mini PC. I also find that my mouse pointer stutters as though there is high latency between the mouse and the PC.I’ll try removing and reinstalling the OS and see if that improves things, but so far it’s not comparable with “equivalents” from other manufacturers. I thought I’d give GMKTec a third chance, after on the second the PC just didn’t arrive and they literally asked me to give them another chance, but I think I’ll be safer buying any further PC’s I buy from another manufacturer. The performance is generally lower then it should be.

Great Little Computer. Great Value. Very Good Tech Support.
Bought this little computer as a back up to my laptop. It works great for what I need. Good Value. Had a tech support issue, but the guys at tech support were quick to resolve it successfully.Highly recommended.
