Excellent generic desktop box.
Needed a desktop box for general home use after an old PC died. This was a good buy on sale and works great. It’s small enough to stay on the table. Instead of the floor.Super easy to set up and not full of useless programs. It still needed some minor cleaning out of pre-installed junk.

Best Desktop PC!
This machine is fast and perfect. With 500 GB of hard drive space and 12 GB of RAM, you can’t go wrong! I love this PC!

Quiet, Medium-Sized Case, Powerful Enough for Most Apps
Needed a versatile, all-purpose home PC to replace my aging i7-4xxx desktop, and this one fit the bill quite nicely. The price is a great value for the hardware. I tried virtually building a similarly-specified PC using MicroCenter’s build-a-PC tool, and it was more than double the price! The power supply is a bit meek at 300W, but lower power usage was one of my objectives. I like to keep it on all the time as it functions a central server to my home, and also runs as a PLEX multi-media server to all my televisions. It’s not a gaming PC, and I’m not a gamer, but FWIW, I was able to play a few rounds of Fortnite. YMMV. Again, NOT a gaming PC.This PC runs very quiet and even silent most of the time; a very quiet fan kicks on when taxing the CPU, but it’s barely audible. Two things I wished they didn’t ‘cheap-out’ on are not including an SD card reader, and ‘only’ providing 12GB of RAM (wish it were 16GB, but it honestly doesn’t really make a difference day-to-day for me).It has a front-facing USB-C, which is really nice, and an ‘always-on’ USB-A port for keeping things charged for when the PC is turned off. I know physical media is nearly dead, but I’m still using some CDs and DVDs, and having a built-in DVD-RW is very helpful.Overall, a great multi-purpose PC!

I’m able to play World of Warcraft on highest settings with over 200 fps, but….
So, I guess this is not technically a ‘gaming’ computer…Not exactly sure what makes that determination, but I can tell you that I play World of Warcraft with the highest settings, and it reaches over 200 fps. I now have it turned down to limit the fps to 60, to sync with my monitor’s refresh rate as suggested, and it sticks at 60fps no matter what I’m doing in the game, and I have zero lag. With that said, when I am gaming, the fan does make quite a bit of noise, and the computer gets hot, when I have the game set to the highest settings. Perhaps a ‘gaming’ computer would have a more robust fan or some other components to handle the requirements of a graphically intense game like World of Warcraft, I don’t know enough about these things to say. All I know is that I get great performance when gaming, and while the fan is pretty loud, I don’t notice the computer getting hot unless its at the highest settings and I’m doing something intense like a raid. When I turn the settings down, and limit the fps to 60, it stays at a decent temperature. The fan IS pretty noisy though, regardless of what I’m doing.

Nice Simple Computer
If you are looking for a gaming machine, this ain’t it. But it IS a great setup overall for home or office. Easy to upgrade right out of the box. There are a few YouTube videos to watch for guidance. Memory was first, TEAMGROUP T-Create Classic 10L DDR4 32Â GB Kit (Amazon $55.99). Then the available PCIe X16 slot was filled with a SABRENT NVMe M.2 SSD to PCIe X16 Card (Amazon $15.95) and a Crucial P3 1Â TB PCIe Gen3 3D NAND NVMe M.2 SSD (Amazon $45.99) for a nice storage upgrade without using the much slower SATA interface. There is no case fan included, so an ARCTIC P12 PWMâ120 mm 4 pin Case Fan took care of that (Amazon $9.09). Finally, there is only one USB-C port in the front and two USB-A 3.2 ports, one up front and one on the rear. So a low cost PCI-E Expansion Card with 2 USB Type-A and 2 USB Type-C Ports, SINEFINE (Amazon $16.99) filled the PCIe x4 slot and added plenty of ports. Goes from power on button to booted desktop in less than10 seconds. Upgrades totaled out at like $180.00 Delivered. Quite and fast, this build will last for years.

Anti-Consumer
Warning: Uses an anti-consumer proprietary connectors. This PC is made to be non-repairable and non-upgradable. You cannot add any modern graphics card to this computer. Unless you’re only intending to give this computer to your grandparents to check their email, this computer is going to be in a landfill in a few years. It cannot be serviced nor upgraded by normal means. There are many anti-consumer tricks here, and I’m so sad that reviewers aren’t pointing them out. For instance, the motherboard of this computer is made to a nonstandard size so it won’t fit in most cases. This includes that the front panel I/O is built onto the motherboard. If you don’t know what that means, imagine that you want to move into a new house. But you find out the company that makes the kitchen appliances like the fridge has connected big brackets from the fridge all the way to your front and back doors. So nobody can ever fix the fridge if there’s a problem. But they also can’t ever fix the doors either. One company controls the whole thing, end to end, and they get to dictate terms to you.I could go on. Bad deals:Acer proprietary motherboard connector means you cannot connect any normal power supply to this computer. If you ever have a problem, you’re locked into Acer’s service department for life. For tech people, it’s a nonstandard 6-pin connector, specifically made so you cannot swap in any normal power supply, even one from Dell or HP, even if the power supply itself is the exact same part. Even if you connect a normal power supply, the fans would spin forever and the power supply will draw energy until you unplug it.300W power supply is woefully underpowered. You cannot upgrade this computer with normal parts like a graphics card. The computer is going to be a paperweight in a few years, because it cannot be upgraded.Non-standard parts. The motherboard is intentionally constructed so you can’t move it to a new computer if there is a problem. If your case gets banged up, or you have some other problem with your hardware, Acer is going to try to force you to use their service plans, and probably force you to buy a new computer since they’re going to stop making all these parts as soon as they develop a new model.Lack of power, lack of connectors, and lack of space all mean it’s basically impossible to connect any modern graphics card to this computer. Without a graphics card, you’re going to struggle just playing basic games like Fortnite. The computer basically has one hand tied behind its back, so even though the included parts are strong, they’ll never work like they should for any graphics-intensive process (gaming, 3d modeling, and so on).Overall:This computer is basically built for elderly people, schools, and other settings where the most the computer is going to be asked to do in its lifetime is browse the internet or write some documents. You are supposed to throw it away the moment it has problems, and buy a whole new one. For a lot of computer users like me, that’s not okay. I want to be able to fix my computer if something goes wrong, and I need to be able to upgrade my computer with basic parts like a graphics card. This computer is incapable of that. I cannot recommend it whatsoever. The only people who should buy this are people looking to buy 300 cheap workstations for a school, and they probably want the lack of upgrade options so people won’t try to steal them and resell them.

Very easy to setup. Fast and no issues. Only thing to be aware of is there are limited options to upgrade (this was the only reason for 4 stars). However it is quite a nice configuration.

This desktop sits in the home office and has been a joy to use since it arrived a month ago. The price was right (though it was shipped from the U.S., meaning it took about ten days to arrive), there weren’t any startup hassles, it has a good built-in Wi-Fi capability and plenty of USB ports. The desktop boots just a tad more slowly than my Aspire 5 laptop, but that’s not an issue. Head-to-head, it offers better price-performance to Dell (which has been my go-to desktop supplier for the last five PCs).

Windows est en anglais et apres un super service téléphonique de Acer c’est maintenant en francais. Je suis tres satisfaite de mon achat du Black Friday
